Gunsite Academy may be as consistent and reliable as ever, but that doesn’t mean the famed firearms training facility is resting on its laurels. In the third and final part of our interview with Gunsite’s Chief Operating Officer Ken Campbell, we look ahead to 2017. What can one expect when making the trip out to Paulden, Arizona?

As Ken explains to us, you can expect a broad spectrum of classes in various levels of pistol, carbine, shotgun and rifle, just to name a few. In terms of specialty classes, Gunsite is offering a “Active Shooter/Terrorist Response for Civilians” course, as well as a “Emergency Medical Response” class for active shooter situations in public buildings.

Ken also reveals that the staff at Gunsite is currently putting together a class centered around citizen response to church incidents. In other words, gun safety; how to put together your security team; what to look out for in terms of possible suspects; and so on. Since anything worth doing takes time, it’s still in the planning stages, but if Gunsite’s track record is anything to go on, we don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
