Two Kirkwood, Mo. police officers and three people attending the meeting were killed by a gunman who went on a shooting rampage during a city council meeting Thursday night. Officials say the gunman had confrontations with city officials in the past and was banned from attending all city council meetings. However, Charles “Cookie” Thornton made it known that he would show up at Thursday’s meeting and extra police were assigned ahead of time.
