From the iPhone to the iPad, Apple is the face of modern technology. But one Apple designer is dipping into the firearms industry.
Industrial designer Marc Newson has worked with Beretta on an upcoming shotgun launch, according to Dezeen Magazine.
Newson has designed a version of the double-barrelled 486 Parallelo shotgun for Italian firearms manufacturer Beretta, a company established in 1526.
Newson’s design will be released on 13 November, when the gun is officially unveiled at an event in London.
It will be a version of the existing 486 Parallelo – a 12-gauge side-by-side game gun that features a round body receiver and lavish engravings.
Having joined the Apple team back in September, Newson’s technological brilliance is well known throughout the industry. BusinessWeek touted Newson as an “Australian-born aesthetic guru.”
Beretta’s 486 Parallelo is a side-by-side 12 gauge that comes in at just more than 7 pounds.
It is unknown what Newson has contributed to the redesign.
