WASHINGTON – The United States military’s Northern Command is forming a combat infantry team to deal with terrorist attacks and natural disasters in the U.S. The Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry started it’s assignment on Wednesday. The first active-duty military unit attached to the U.S Northern Command will focus on logistics and support for local police and rescue personnel. The plan has sparked controversy from many who are concerned the unit has been training with equipment used in law enforcement, including beanbag bullets, Tasers, spike strips and roadblocks.
