While some gun-control groups are seeking to exploit ongoing Mexican drug cartel-related violence to advance their policy agenda in Congress, the National Shooting Sports Foundation is continuing to cooperate with law enforcement by expanding its 10-year-old “Don’t Lie for the Other Guy” anti-straw purchasing campaign along the Southwest border. “The Second Amendment and America’s firearms industry are, of course, not the cause of violence in Mexico, or here at home, but as a responsible industry we take the criminal acquisition and misuse of our products seriously and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate,” said NSSF Senior Vice President and General Counsel Lawrence G. Keane. “Our Don’t Lie campaign, run in conjunction with ATF, is an example of our industry’s cooperative efforts.” Following a successful multi-city launch of Don’t Lie in Texas last month, NSSF is now gearing up for an August launch in Tucson, Ariz.
