A Colorado range offers gun training for the zombie apocalypse by using Simunitions. The Zombie Hunter Extravaganza at the Longmont Police and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Range and Training Facility is available to anyone 12 and older.
The concept follows the traditional haunted house concept, but with participants armed with the simunitions guns that police use in training scenarios. The modified 9mm Glock handguns shoot special “simunition” rounds that leave brightly colored marks on targets and use real gunpowder to mimic the feel of shooting a live round.
Volunteers dressed as zombies over heavy protective gear amble out of dark corners, side rooms, and from behind furnishings in the simunitions building at the range.
