A New York City police officer shot and wounded a 31-year-old suspect armed with a handgun in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.
The department said it got a tip that a man who was illegally residing at a residence on Glenmore Avenue in East New York was in possession of a gun.
When officers surrounded the home at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, the armed man tried to exit the back door and was confronted by a police officer who ordered him to drop his weapon.
