WASHINGTON – Federal agents may now confiscate laptops and bring them to an off-site location for an unspecified period of time without suspicion of wrongdoing.  This new Department of Homeland Security policy also allows officials to share copies of the computer’s contents with other agencies for data encryption and language translation, among other reasons.
