
The US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) has awarded major contracts to fifteen different companies — including ExxonMobil, Shell, Alon USA, Valero and Phillips 66 — for the purchase of jet fuel. The contracts will run through April 2015 and the DLA will get the money from fiscal 2014 defense working capital funds.
Shell Oil Products, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, won the majority of the contract with awards totaling over $1.6 billion. The awards from the 15 different companies collectively add up to over $5 billion.
