The European Union has stopped military sales to Egypt in the wake of an increase in violence in the North African nation.

The EU has decided to stop military sales, which they believe may be used for repression, but they have not stopped the humanitarian aid that they give to Egypt.  The U.S. has also not cut the $1.3 billion in military aid that it provides to Egypt each year.
