Federal agents seized some 50,000 rounds of ammunition and two firearms during a routine inspection at an import-export car lot near the Mexican border, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Wednesday.
Wednesday’s seizure came after a Customs and Border Protection dog reacted to a 1996 Ford F-150 pickup truck, leading agents to discover anomalies in the floor of the pickup bed.
The seized firearms included a Romanian AK-47 and a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber revolver. An AK-47 magazine and 16 M-4 assault rifle magazines also were seized.
