A Framingham man convicted of shooting a police officer in the face while fleeing the scene of a robbery nearly three years ago has been sentenced to life in prison.

Sahr Josiah was sentenced on Tuesday in Middlesex Superior Court about three weeks after he was found guilty of a variety of charges including armed assault with the intent to murder.

The 24-year-old Josiah had little reaction to the verdict. The officer he shot, Sgt. Phillip Hurton, said he has been waiting a long time for justice and is glad he will never have to see Josiah’s face again.
