Fresno police say they’ve arrested more than 600 suspects since officers started getting tough on gangs in the city.
Fresno police Sgt. Joe Martin says 29 people were arrested during a sweep Saturday, including four parolees and nine gang members.
With Saturday’s arrests, police say they’ve made 648 arrests including, including 216 for felony offenses, since starting the sweeps two weeks ago
The crackdown began April 25 after three people were killed in separate shootings during an especially violent weekend.
