Gerber Propel AO (Assisted Opening) knives are available in two models, the Propel AO and Propel Downrange AO. These tactical folding blades are ergonomic, precise and easy to deploy.

A partially serrated Tanto-style 420HC blade cuts easily through stubborn materials like nylon cord or webbing, yet maintains the cutting ability of a fine edge when necessary. The stainless steel blade is black oxide coated for corrosion resistance, while a textured composite G-10 handle adds security in cold or wet situation.

To deploy the Propel AO’s blade users simply apply pressure to the ambidextrous thumb stud along the spine of the knife. However, unlike many AO’s, instead of applying pressure upwards parallel to the case, the blade will deploy when engaged about 45 degrees to the side. This, along with a narrow aperture of opening, ensures the knife doesn’t deploy accidentally while being hastily pulled from the pocket. Once the knife is engaged it can be locked in place. The Propel AO includes an adjustable three-position pocket clip that allows for convenient carrying options and a reliable plunge lock will disengage the blade for quick, safe stowage.
