Deputies with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia have been given the green light to use Honor Defense’s Honor Guard pistols as a backup or off-duty gun.

Based in Lawrenceville, Ga.—around 40 miles from the Glock headquarters in Smyrna—the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office consists of about 725 sworn personnel. Located 30 miles of northeast Atlanta, Gwinnett County proper has an estimated population of 920,260 as of 2017. It covers 430 square miles.

“We are honored and privileged to be approved by Gwinnett County for individual Officers to purchase. Gwinnett County joins a growing list of law enforcement departments that have approved Honor Defense. The approved weapons are the same models available to consumers as well,” Honor Defense President Gary Ramey said in a press release.

Honor Defense’s Honor Guard pistols are just .96 inches wide, making them easy to carry and conceal. It comes in three grip frame configurations—Subcompact, FIST (Firearm with Integrated Standoff) and Long Slide—and two barrel lengths. In addition, it’s available with or without a manual thumb safety. Color choices abound, with 10 different options to choose from. These models are also fully ambidextrous. Meanwhile, they’re also +P rated, made with American parts and assembled by veterans. Every model comes with a lifetime warranty.

“Honor Defense was designed with law enforcement input and has superior ergonomic features,” Ramey added. “Most importantly. Honor Defense was tested by Gun Tests Magazine and confirmed to be more accurate than the top single-stack 9mm brands.”

The presser touts Honor Defense as the “next generation of modular handguns,” offering a host of features.

“You can’t buy a better pistol right out of the box,” the company states.

Below, check out the specs on the Honor Guard FIST frame variant, which is meant to put distance between the muzzle and anything that might push the slide back, out of battery and prevent a discharge.
