WASHINGTON – “Operation Scheduled Departure,” the Bush administration’s invitation to illegal immigrants to voluntarily leave the country, is launching on Aug. 5 in Santa Ana, Calif.; San Diego; Phoenix; Chicago and Charlotte, N.C., and will end Aug 22.  The program is open to those who have been ordered to leave the country but have remained in the U.S. and have not committed a crime, and asks that they surrender at immigration offices voluntarily.
