Dozens of residents from the community came out for the unveiling of the memorial for Captain Matthew Freeman, who was killed after just nine days into his tour in Afghanistan.
It opened with the acoustic sounds of the national anthem. Admired by dozens of community members and local government officials, they all watched as Lisa Freeman unveiled this memorial of her son, Captain Matthew Freeman
Lisa Freeman said the memorial would help to, “explain to the community who Matthew Freeman was. We have such a growing community, that after naming the road after him, people have been asking who this hero was.”
