The Jefferson Police Department was recently awarded a $10,000 public safety partnership grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Atlanta.

The incentive grant, which will last through September, is designed for small law enforcement agencies that partner with the highway office and excel in participation in highway initiatives and keeping their communities safe.

The goal of the grant is to reward agencies for their proactive approach to traffic safety and to provide them with the necessary tools to effectively continue their efforts.
