Indiana State Trooper Jarrod Lents visited Tex Tech Industries in North Monmouth, which produces the anti-ballistic material used in protective vests, to give his thanks to employees. Jarrod was shot six times in the chest at close range, but his protective vest, however saved his life “I assumed I was dead.” he said.
Lents, of the Indiana State Police, was shot six times by a 9mm semi-automatic handgun from just a few feet away, but his vest stopped every bullet from piercing his torso. Another bullet pierced his arm, but the vest stopped it from going farther.
Lents told dozens of company employees that the only physical reminder of that shootout with a robbery suspect is the scar that creases his forearm.
