The United States is sending 20 marines to Central America as part of the new Marine Corps Security Cooperation Group, marking the first time an active-duty team has been sent to work for a significant amount of time in the region.

The MCSCG will deploy to Belize, Honduras and Guatemala, working with local militias to stem the flow of drug trafficking in their respective countries.
