A Jackson County deputy serving a warrant in Blue Springs was saved by his helmet after a man fired a weapon. Of the six shots fired at officers, one hit the deputy in the head, but his helmet saved him from serious injury.
Deputies were serving a warrant in the 600 block of NW Valleybrook Road while at the same time Blue Springs police were also serving a warrant at another location. Three people were taken into custody during both sweeps, and as much as $50,000 in drugs were found.
“Upon making entry, they received gunfire from the residence at least six shots were fired at the Tactical Team as they were coming in the door,” said Det. Jeremy Dickstein of the Blue Springs Police Department
