About 116 hostages had been released or rescued in the previous 24 hours. At least 82,000 people have been evacuated or displaced since the fighting began, officials said. Zamboanga City, a prosperous trading town of 800,000, has ground to a halt in the past week, with all flights canceled, schools and many businesses closed, and a curfew in effect from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
