Former Navy reservist, Aaron Alexis was believed to be the lone gunman at the Navy Yard’s shooting spree, in Washington D.C. per investigators. The suspect was killed in a firefight with police, and authorities have lifted a shelter in place for the remaining residents in the area.
The 12 deceased shooting victims range in age from 46 to 73 years old, Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray said at an evening news conference. Officials are still notifying the families of about half of the 12 people who were killed, he said.
