A new eight-lane indoor shooting range is opening up soon in Harrisburg, Ill. at the site of a former AMC movie theater. The Point Blank Range, which is equipped with state of the art equipment such as a touch pad for targetry, bills itself as a one-stop shop, selling a variety of guns and hosting a concealed carry class taught by police officers every two weeks.
“If we’re not preparing our students for what’s out on the street, then we’re giving them an injustice by signing their certificate and sending them out here to get their concealed carry permit,” says range officer Shannon Deuel.
“I got a little teary-eyed, I couldn’t hardly see my sites but it’s been a long road,” said co-owner Roman Kuppart, who purchased the old AMC theater last May. “It’s definitely an adrenaline rush when you pull that trigger and fire a round down the range,” he says.
Point Blank Range will hold a Ribbon Cutting ceremony Feb. 7. The grand opening is scheduled for Feb. 8.
