The New Mexico Department of Public Safety just shot down a local gun center’s attempt to put part of a concealed carry class online.

An online concealed carry class through Calibers gun range started with a bang, but it may go silent soon. Calibers’ course still requires students to pass a test on the firing range, but the state said they cannot legally offer any part of the class outside of the classroom.

Skasik said Calibers, or any gun center, has to notify the state any time it makes significant changes to its course materials so state leaders make sure the course still meets the requirements.
