North Carolina’s new gun law will allow the use of suppressors, sometimes referred to as “silencers,” when shooting wildlife.  It will take effect on October 1.

In order to legally use a suppressor, a hunter or trapper must meet all the federal requirements to own a suppressor including registering the device, paying a federal tax and undergoing a background check.
