Police have arrested a third suspect and have issued an arrest warrant for a fourth — a 16-year-old boy — in connection with a shooting last weekend that blew out the window of a California Highway Patrol cruiser.
Police had been searching for two the suspects since Saturday, when four men were reportedly involved in ramming a CHP cruiser with a car and shooting at an officer. Two suspects were arrested that day; no one was injured in the incident.
The third suspect, Joseph Gonzalez, 18, of Oakland was arrested Monday night after a standoff outside an East Oakland home, police said. On Tuesday, police announced they had issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder for the boy, who the newspaper is not naming because of his age.
On Monday afternoon, police working with CHP and federal investigators discovered that both Gonzalez and the boy were in a home in the 2400 block of East 24th Street, Oakland police Officer Johnna Watson said.
