SAN DIEGO — If elected president, Senator Barack Obama will propose that the U.S. deploy approximately 10,000 more troops to Afghanistan to battle the increasing threat from resurgent forces.  “We need more troops, more helicopters, better intelligence-gathering and more nonmilitary assistance to accomplish the mission (in Afghanistan),” Sen.
