Samaritans honored as heroes: wdtn.com

On January 4, 2012, the men helped to pull Patricia Oliver from her car after spun off Rip Rap Road and into the Great Miami River.

“They think anybody would have done what they did and I don’t believe that. From the bottom of my heart, myself and my family, we just really appreciate you. Thank you so much,” Oliver said.

“I don’t think I did anything extraordinary,” said Ryan.

Ryan was in the car with Russo, driving just behind Oliver when she lost control.

“I came around the corner and just saw a car out of control, lost control, swerved across the road a couple of times and then went backwards into the river,” Russo said.
