WASHINGTON – The Pentagon changed its recruiting policy to require the obtainment of a waiver for new recruits with past bad behavior to join the Armed Forces. The elimination of waiver requirements for petty crimes was never agreed upon, but after a lengthy review, the DoD backed down to allow services to set their own guidelines for what crimes may trigger the need for a waiver.
