Police announced the arrest of the man accused of stealing a puppy last week from a South Pasadena pet store.

Police arrested 53-year-old Jesus Medina, from Los Angeles, on suspicion of grand theft. Medina is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.

South Pasadena Police received a call just before noon from employees of Pet’s Delight, 725 Fair Oaks Avenue, that the alleged puppy thief had returned to the store with the Puggle in tow. The man reportedly tried to return the dog, said Sergeant Robert Bartl.

Bartl was the first officer to arrive and, after confirming with employees, took Medina outside and placed him under arrest.
