As 38.9 million people will be hitting the roads this week, police preparing for Thanksgiving travel season say they’ll be on the lookout for dangerous drivers.
“We try to be visible in our patrols,” said Captain Steve Jones with the Thomas County (GA) Sheriff’s Office. “We want to work the neighborhoods, protect the property, but also anybody who is driving aggressively or driving too fast or recklessly will be stopped and they will be cited if needed.”
Thomasville Police and Georgia State Troopers will also be beefing up patrol.
While traffic will be heavy on the highways, deputies will also be keeping an eye on those sticking close to home.
