NEW YORK– Rev. Al Sharpton promised to “close this city down” to protest the acquittals of the three NYC police officers involved in the Sean Bell case.  Hundreds of angry people marched through Harlem on Saturday and are now planning three actions: A march on the Department of Justice, civil disobedience with possible arrests and a boycott of city businesses right before Mother’s Day.

“We strategically know how to stop the city so people stand still and realize that you do not have the right to shoot down unarmed, innocent civilians,” Sharpton told a crowd of several hundred people at his National Action Network office. “This city is going to deal with the blood of Sean Bell.”  For more details on this, click here and return back to comment.
