Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a borough man who they said had been dealing prescription painkillers and steroids while he was under house arrest at his home on Burt Meadow Road.
Wayne P. Mann, 35, was arrested Saturday along with two alleged accomplices, accused of selling drugs that had been prescribed to himself and others while he was awaiting sentencing on a drug distribution charge out of Bergen County, said Chief Bernard Lombardo of the Ringwood police.
Mann had been sentenced to probation on another offense on June 1 and was wearing a monitoring bracelet on his ankle at the time of his arrest, Lombardo said. Authorities did not released information about the Bergen County drug offense or disclose why Mann had been sentenced to probation.
Police officers from Ringwood and Wanaque recovered about $800 in cash and more than 300 pills from Mann’s home, Lombardo said. Sgt. Paul Rothlauf said police officers devoted at least an hour to their search, finding drugs in a variety of spots — including kitchen cabinets and inside the ceiling. The drugs had an estimated street value of $6,000, the chief said.
