The Town of Shelburne’s Police Department was selected as the winner of the 2014 Vermont Law Enforcement Challenge by the Vermont Law Enforcement Challenge committee.

The 2014 Vermont Law Enforcement Challenge started 14 years ago as a friendly competition between agencies in regards to their participation in highway safety initiatives and safety education events. The competition committee chooses the winner based on the department’s participation in the “Click it or Ticket” and “You Drink & Drive You Lose” programs and on the safety education events that the agencies host at schools, community events and retail outlets throughout the year.

Sergeant Allen Fortin of the Shelburne Police Department said to ShelburneNews.com, “We were selected because we have a great program here. It is an honor to be acknowledged for excelling in each area of the challenge, not only in Shelburne, but in our division.”

Fortin and his department were notified in July of the selection.
