The Spanish Air Force (SPAF) wants to buy three Airbus Military A330-200 multi-role tanker-transports (MRTTs) to replace their Boeing KC-707 tankers.
Brig. Gen. Miguel Angel Martin Perez, who spoke at the Military Airlift – Rapid Reaction and Tanker Operations conference in Seville on Dec. 3, said purchasing the A330 MRTTs was a top priority for the SPAF.
The country is currently having major financial troubles that have negatively impacted equipment programs for the entire Spanish armed forces, but the hope is that the air force budget will start to increase in 2016 from an anticipated record low in 2014.
