Team Wendy has unveiled the first prototypes of its new Tactical Bump Helmet, the first carbon fiber helmet made with the company’s latest helmet liner technology. The product was revealed at a private event held in conjunction with the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC) May 22 in Tampa, Fla.
“By utilizing our helmet liner expertise and our knowledge of the military space, we have created a functional, protective helmet unlike anything on the market today,” says Team Wendy CEO, Jose Rizo-Patron.
Using technology partially developed through collaboration on a U.S. Army Natick Soldier RD&E Center program, Team Wendy’s Tactical Bump Helmet features a hybrid sling/polymer structure impact management system that offers multi-impact performance. The design allows for superior airflow and ventilation by creating standoff between the wearer’s head and the helmet shell. Made of a durable TPU, the liner is also resistant to wear and environmental extremes. Blunt impact performance will exceed current military requirements (10ft/sec, 150G max) and offer improved protection against impacts up to 17ft/sec.
