Active-duty military service members will be able to eat for free at many of the concessions operated by Delaware North CompaniesĀ at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport from now through midnight on January 1, 2014.
The “Thank You Meal” program includes a sandwich or slice of pizza, a side or bag of chips, and a medium fountain (non-alcoholic) drink. Any active-duty United States military service member will have to show ID in order to receive a meal.
Matt King, president of Delaware North Companies Travel Hospitality Services, said, “Offering a meal is our way of taking care of members of the armed forces as they fly through the Austin airport. Whether they are flying home or to a new assignment, while they are our guest at the airport, we want to make sure they are well-fed.”
