Their goal is to get guns off city streets. The Toledo Police Department will be destroying 145 firearms in the near future.

TPD officials say a majority of the weapons were seized serving search warrants, during traffic stops, and even from some residents who no longer want them.

All of the guns will be melted down. It’s something TPD tries to do at least three to four times a year. The last time gun melt was back in December.
