A Catholic school in Nebraska is celebrating 50 years since it was constructed solely on the donations of military personal and local residents.

The school was built with donations from personnel at Offutt Air Force Base and Strategic Air Command bases throughout the world, as well as from local residents and businesses in and around Sarpy County.

St. Matthew Catholic School, which was originally called Cardinal Spellman School, is the only parochial school in the U.S. built by members of the military for their children.
