A veteran police officer in Pennsylvania is being honored for his decades of service. Upper Chichester Police Sgt. James G. Colson Jr. has worked in both Upper and Lower Chichester township for over forty years. As a result, he is a staple of the local community, beloved by residents, fellow officers and civic leaders.

In November, nearly 200 people attended a surprise dinner for Colson. At the dinner, the veteran cop received a gold watch and a plaque honoring him for his service from both Upper and Lower Chichester Commissioners.

“It can be said that every building needs a good foundation,” Police Chief Tom Bush said. “Jim is our department’s foundation. He is the corner stone for all that is right with the Upper Chichester Police Department.”
