It is being called vigilante justice. A Hopkinsville farmer fed-up with metal theft from his property decided to wait for the thieves to come back again armed with a loaded shotgun.

Joe Rives said his wife called him crazy for sitting in the heat for hours hoping that the thieves would return. But he got lucky, and the two suspects were busted.

He waited for six hours inside a metal trailer on his farm off Bradshaw Road.

“I got in there about 8 in the morning and there was a pretty good breeze blowing through here to I got a good comfortable chair and sat down,” said Rives.
