Chicago– After last year’s Virginia Tech shooting, Illinois lawmakers jumped at the opportunity to reform their state’s gun laws, prohibiting individuals with a history of mental illness from purchasing and owning guns.  However, the new restrictions do not go into effect until June, plaguing lawmakers with the possibility that perhaps they spoke too late and wondering if such restrictions will even help prevent shootings like the one at Northern Illinois University last week.  For details on this, click here and return back to comment.
