Several police departments in Chippewa County, Wisconsin conducted four, two-hour training exercises at a local movie theater on Thursday. Four more training sessions are scheduled for Friday. The Chippewa Falls Police Department along with the Chippewa County Sherriff’s Department, the Lake Hallie Police Department, and Micon Cinemas all trained at the Micon 8 Cinema in Chippewa Falls.

“Our departments have trained in years past in our local schools in preparation for active shooters. However, as recent years have shown these tragic events are not confined to our schools. The Micon Cinemas owners have been generous enough to allow our officers to prepare and train at their facility,” said Chippewa Falls Police Lt. Matthew Kelm.
